Welcome to Odyssey Money!

Introducing Odyssey Money: Every Retirement Account, Under One Roof
Today, I'm thrilled to share something we have been pouring ourselves into: Odyssey Money is officially live.
This is the product I wish I'd had a decade ago, and the one I'm convinced so many people need right now. So before I get into what it does, let me tell you why we built it.
The problem that wouldn't leave me alone
A few years back, I sat down to figure out where I actually stood for retirement. I'd changed jobs a few times. I had a vague memory of a 401(k) at one early employer, a rollover IRA somewhere, a current 401(k) I was contributing to, and a Roth I'd opened in my teens. To get a real answer, I needed to log into five different portals, half of which I couldn't remember the passwords for. One account I genuinely couldn't track down at all.
I'm someone with a financial background. If I was struggling with this, what was everyone else doing?
Turns out, not much. As we dug into the research, the numbers were staggering: $1.7 trillion in retirement savings is sitting in accounts that Americans have lost track of, across roughly 30 million orphaned 401(k)s. That's not a niche problem. That's a national crisis hiding in plain sight, and it's caused by something embarrassingly simple, the system asks ordinary people to keep track of dozens of accounts, across multiple employers, across decades. And of course they can't.
We started Odyssey Money to fix that.
What we built
Odyssey is three things in one product, and each one solves a piece of the puzzle.
1. A search engine for your forgotten retirement plans
We've built a database of over 260,000 employer retirement plans across the United States, and it's growing. You type in a former employer, even one from fifteen years ago, and we tell you where to start the discovery process. One of our early users found a 401(k) from her first job in under five minutes. That moment, watching someone reconnect with their own money, was the moment I knew we were onto something.
2. A single dashboard for all your accounts
Once you've found your old 401(k) accounts, you can begin to connect all of your investment accounts and view them in your own central dashboard.
For the first time, you can answer "how much do I actually have?" without opening seven browser tabs.
3. A retirement calculator that runs on your real numbers
This is the piece I'm proudest of. Most retirement calculators available today are essentially toys - you plug in round numbers, get a fantasy projection, and close the tab. Ours is wired into your actual connected balances. Adjust your retirement age, your monthly contribution, your spending goal, and the projection updates in real time using your real money. It's the difference between guessing and knowing.
What I want people to take away
A couple things matter enormously to me about how we built this:
You shouldn't have to pay to find your own money. Our Free plan includes the 401(k) search, the portfolio dashboard, the basic calculator, and up to two account connections. If you want to go deeper in your portfolio, we have several different tools available to help give you a complete picture of your money and financial future.
This is for everyone, not just the wealthy. A lot of financial tooling is built for people who already have advisors managing seven-figure portfolios. Odyssey is built for everyone - the people changing jobs, building careers, juggling accounts, and trying to figure out if we're on track. You shouldn't need a wealth manager to answer that question.
What's next
We're just getting started. The roadmap ahead is full of things I can't wait to share - deeper planning tools, more sophisticated scenarios, new ways to help people not just find their accounts but optimize what's in them. But today is about the launch, and about an invitation.
If you've got a nagging suspicion that there's a 401(k) out there with your name on it from a job you barely remember - go find out. It takes about thirty seconds.
If you want to finally see all your retirement and investment accounts in one place, with a projection that's based on real numbers - connect them and get the picture.
And if any of this resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you. We read every email that comes into support@odysseymoney.ai. The best products are built in conversation with the people who use them, and that's how we plan to keep building this one.
Welcome to Odyssey Money. After all, it’s your journey, make sure your money comes with you.
